Centrifugal air compressors

The heavy duty GT-Series air compressors in two to four stage configuration have been designed for the needs of the air separation industries when large flows from 20,000 cfm to 60,000 cfm (33,000 to 100,000 m³/h) and discharge pressures up to 188 psi (13 bar a) are required. These compressors offer the very high capabilities of the GT Gas Compressor Series combined with an increased competitiveness in price through standardisation. ? Optimal impeller design and optimal flow cuts for state of the art efficiencies. ? Adjustable inlet guide vanes (IGV) with central cone for a wide control range and low start-up power. ? High efficiency carbon floating ring seals for lowest seal gas leakage, contact-free operation, safety and reliability. ? Torsionally flexible dry disk pack coupling with spacer shaft for easy installation. ? Axial thrust bearing on high speed pinion gear. ? High-speed journal/thrust bearings with radial tilting pad bearing, shims for axial alignment and tapered land thrust bearing. ? Compact, unitised frame with integrated cooler for exeptional torsional rigidity and ease of site erection due to pre-fabrication in the ACT workshop. ? Standardised control cubicles and various options for instrument packages. ? Motor support available on the integrated gas cooler (GT063) on a concrete pedestal or on a separate steel frame (GT078/GT087).
